An exciting permanent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Production Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer to join a truly innovative and progressive automotive engineering company in Daventry. This role is working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday and offering a competitive salary.

The Role:

The purpose of this position is to be responsible for bringing new products from design & development through to production. It is an interesting and varied role where you will be involved in the whole product lifecycle, key points:

  • Responsible for a defined number of New Products
  • Work to defined APQP process
  • Responsible for entire MFR process (supporting APQP document)
  • Responsible for all production engineering sections of PRN
  • To be consulted at design stage for manufacturing feasibility / capability
  • Responsible for specification and design of prototype and production tooling
  • Responsible for building all prototype parts
  • Responsible for capacity analysis. Based on these studies, layout design, creation process flow and following through of process flow
  • Responsible for the design and successful implementation of all in-house and external tooling (in partnership with selected supplier)
  • Responsible for writing and signing off SOP’s
  • Responsible for converting process flow to routes and ensuring all SC/CC, quality items (including the ones coming from DFMEA, PFMEA) and changes throughout process development are captured
  • Oversee all initial pre-production parts


  • Automotive background
  • Experienced with proven history of delivering similar automotive products
  • Good production process knowledge
  • Must be able to work diligently and with minimum of supervision
  • Must be a team player with a “Can Do” attitude
  • Good communication skills
  • Good MS Office skills
  • Familiar with APQP process
  • Knowledge of LEAN tools
